Free Entry Into Club Competitive Events 2024

 

Try a new cycling discipline for free and make yourself a more skilled, stronger, fitter, all round better rider. A new style of bike riding will enhance your cycling ability guaranteed, so if you have been curious what they are all about then this is a great way to have a go and something that could turn into a new cycling passion 🙂
These fun events are all supportive environments and they are as competitive as you want them to be.

Seacroft Wheelers will pay the cost of entry of any first claim member, into a club run event during 2024 as follows:-

*Time Trials – The club run 5 events costing between £5 and £13 each.
Can be done on a regular road bike (must wear helmet and have front and rear working lights)
Compete against the clock over 10 miles either with some club mates or solo.
Normal costs are:-
2up (2 riders together) £5 each, 25th April & 15th August.
4up (4 riders together) £5 each, 22nd August.
Hill climb £5 each, 29th August.
Open 10mile £13 . 28th July 
(excludes Thursday Evening League).

*Cyclo Cross – The club run 1 event normally costing £13 (t.b.c.) for Seniors and Vets.
(come out on a Wednesday evening for some skills and fitness training).
Can be done on any bike with off road tyres.
Taking place 13th October.

*Road Race – The club run 1 event normally costing £30 (t.b.c.)
Place numbers restricted to the team size limit for both the men’s and women’s race is likely to be 6 (so get your name down early 😉 ).
Taking place 7th July
(excludes cost of your race license £10 for a day license).

How to claim
If you are a paid up first claim member of the club on the day of the event the entry fee will be paid on your behalf.
(“first claim” just means you are a regular member and Seacroft Wheelers is your main/only club, “second claim” means you are first claim at another club)
For the Youth and Junior second claim members that ride the 2up, 4up and hill climb in a Seacroft Wheelers jersey they will also qualify for the free entry.

(Note- part of each entrance fee comprises a levy paid by the organising club per rider, to the relevant governing body Cycling Time Trials Association, British Cycling etc which goes towards things like liability insurance for that event, administration and developing the sport).
