Tour of Britain, stage 1, 12 Sept.

"Two of us cycled over to Pocklington on Saturday to catch the Tour of Britain and bumped into Dave Smith, Richard Barker and Jonathan Fletcher. We all cycled up to Kilnwick Percy for the first of the days King of the Mountains and sat in glorious sunshine waiting for the race. The road closed just a few minutes before the two leaders came through followed some ten minutes later by the bunch, with Bradley Wiggins placed right at the front. It was then a quick four man pursuit to cover the 8 miles to Buttercrambe to catch the race again as it came off the wolds. By this time the two leaders were just two minutes in front, and soon to be caught. Taking a steady ride back towards Dunnington, we were treated to a close up as we were passed by two of the back markers making their way towards the finish with the help of a motorcycle marshal some 15 mins behind the main bunch. A cracking day out in glorious sunshine for once, and we all made it onto the ITV4 highlights programme!! "
