SEACROFT WHEELERS 'RELIABLE 5' AWARD 2012.

New for 2012 an addition to the Club's series of annual competitions with an award for all qualifiers. Open to First and Second claim members of Seacroft Wheelers only (club annual subscription must be paid-up before the date of the first ride). Complete the long option of all the five rides listed below to claim your Seacroft 'Reliable 5' medal. Competition co-ordinated by Chris Beetham.

Please note, whilst it is quite likely that some club members will ride together these rides are not clubruns and participants will need to ensure they are self-sufficient and familiar with the route. Routesheets are usually available at the starts.


1. SUNDAY 29th JANUARY, 2012. SEACROFT WHEELERS.

HEADQUARTERS
Start and Finish - Squires Café Bar, 1.5 miles west of Sherburn-in -Elmet on B1222. Car park, refreshments and toilets available.

Choice of routes;

ROUTE 1 - 80km (50 miles)   Start 9.30am, Latest finish 1.30pm.

Micklefield - Towton - Tadcaster - Wetherby - Sicklinghall - Harewood Bridge - Weardley - Alwoodley - Shadwell - Thorner - Aberford - Sherburn. Includes the medium difficulty climb of Weardley Bank max 1 in 6.

ROUTE 2 - 50km (31 miles)  Start 9.45am, Latest finish 12.15pm.

Micklefield - Towton - Stutton - Bramham - Thorner - Aberford - Sherburn. Rolling with no significant hills.

ENTRY at the start £1.50 (please have correct change)

Certificate to all finishers.

2. SUNDAY 5th FEBRUARY 2012 - HARROGATE NOVA CC

THIS EVENT EXCLUDED FROM THE COMPETITION BECAUSE OF HEAVY SNOW. A decision will be announced shortly whether to include a replacement qualifying event or to award the medal on completion of the remaining four events.

80km & 50km Reliability Rides. Entry fee £2, enter at the start.
Start:09:30 - Rigton Railway Crossing-just off A658.
Route: (80k) Wetherby-Boroughbridge-Ripon-Fountains Abbey-Ripley-Killinghall-Pennypot Lane. To Finish: Norwood Village Hall. (YCF Clubrun). Refreshments available.

3. SUNDAY 12th FEBRUARY 2012 - AIREDALE OLYMPIC

80km & 50km Reliability Rides. Entry fee £1.50, enter at the start.
Start:09:30 - B6161(Near Leathley Bridge – approx. ½ mile from A658 junction).

Route: (80k) Leathley-Gated Road-Norwood-Summerbridge-Burnt Yates- Shaw Mills- Bishop Thornton - Grantley - Kirby Malzeard - Ripon-Boroughbridge. To Finish: Holy Trinity Church Hall, Knaresborough. Route Map. Refreshments Available.

4. SUNDAY 19th FEBRUARY 2012 - OTLEY CC

100km & 50km Reliability Rides. Entry fee, enter at the start.
100 km start 0900 Buttercross (Market Place), Otley.
Route:(100km) A65-Ilkley-Addingham-Bolton Abbey- Barden Tower -Appletreewick-Grassington-Kettlewell-Kilnsey-Threshfield-Burnsall-Barden-Bolton Bridge -Addingham-Ilkley-Asquith-to Finish Otley CC Club-room, refreshments available.

5. SUNDAY 26th FEBRUARY 2012 - EVANS CYCLES Harewood Sportive

70 miles sportive.

Start and finish Gateways School, Harewood from 8.30 to 9.45am. Entry online in advance £12.50 or £15 on the line. Signposted route including refreshment stations.

Approx route ; Harewood, Collingham, Linton, Sicklinghall, North Rigton, Almscliff Crag, Beckwithshaw, Bland Hill, Darley, Dacre, Thruscross, Kex Gill, Bolton Bridge, Barden, Burnsall, Hartlington, Dibbles Bridge, Stump Cross, Greenhow, Duck Street, Blubberhouses, Fewston, Bland Hill, Farnley, Leathley, Castley, Weeton, Harewood.

Route subject to last minute changes due to weather conditions, GPX route files published a few days prior to event. Route sheets supplied on the day. There are a number of steep climbs and a low gear of approx 39x24 or smaller is recommended.
